Mustang Conversion Kit
Convert your
Mustang with a 289 / 302 / 351W / 351C motor from a 3 speed C4 or C6
transmission to an AOD overdrive transmission. You get the Dominator Junior
transmission and torque converter rated at 550 horse power, custom AOD crossmember,
Lokar throttle valve cable, speedometer gear based on tire height and gear
ratio, AOD flywheel and a locking top dip stick. The performance model comes
with your choice of a free T-shirt or auxiliary fluid cooler. The freight will
run from free to $140.00 after freight discount in most cases on the performance
model. This will produce up to a 40% increase in gas mileage and a 33% reduction
in motor speed. Level 2 Cost $2429.00. Same package with a stock transmission and
converter, level 1 Cost $1649.00. When ordering we need your motor size, motor year and horse
power plus the car year, tire height and rear end ratio. You may also need the
#89GL shift lever kit and #29 Holley or Edelbrock carburetor adapter. You may want to
consider the mechanical diode kit for full throttle 1-2 up-shifts above 5000 RPM
(fits 1991 - 1993 AOD transmissions only).
The $4.00 per gallon gas will feel like $2.80 per gallon gas with an overdrive
conversion. In the Comment Box: We need to know your motor size and year,
year of car, carburetor brand, tire height, rear end ratio and if possible the
number of teeth on your speedometer drive gear located on the output shaft.

Notice the Holley adapter on
the carburetor and the helper return spring on the throttle valve lever.
Press F11 for a better view. On a stock AOD the correct pressure
adjustment usually is minimum throttle valve cable pull at
minimum throttle opening (idle) and on an AOD with a Shift Kit installed
the correct setting usually is full cable pull at full throttle.

#8LB. Stainless bracket
mounts to rear of Holley, Edelbrock, AFB,
Quadrajet, Demon, and In-Line Dual Quads. Stainless bracket and
GM designed dual stainless springs are used to mount Lokar’s Throttle
Cable and Kickdown assemblies. Design provides improved clearance on
Edelbrock carburetors. Design includes tension screw to prevent bracket
from movement under extreme pressure on a kickdown cable, such as with a
700-R4 transmission. Cost $33.00

Tech
Note: #8LB mounts Lokar Throttle Cables and Kickdowns for a nice
clean setup. Be sure when installing your Spring Return Kit and Throttle
Cable that your throttle pedal bottoms out at full throttle to prevent
undue stress on the throttle shaft and other components.

adapter for a Holley carburetor to install the throttle valve cable correctly.
Usually this part will correct a hard light throttle 1-2 shift. With this kit
getting the correct geometry is easy. Cost $33.00. Adapter for the Edelbrock

carburetors you need this part.

Extreme Duty mechanical diode conversion kit for 1992 - 1998 AODE and
4R70W transmissions. Also fits 1991 - 1993 AOD transmissions. Replace your
roller clutch with the much stronger mechanical diode. This is a weak

Deluxe AOD
Installation Kit for 65 to 73 Mustangs

#K65M. You get the AOD to early
Mustang crossmember, Lokar throttle valve cable, correct speedometer driven
gear, correct flywheel, dip stick, shift lever kit, carburetor adapter for
Holley or Edelbrock, transmission mount, block plate, inspection plate and four
torque converter nuts. Cost $559.00
You can add to or remove from this
kit as needed. An AOD with a 10 1/4" tail housing is only 1/4" longer
than an early Mustang C4 therefore you should be able to reuse your old
driveshaft and yoke. In the Comment Box: We need to know your motor size and year, year of car, carburetor
brand, tire height, rear end ratio and if possible the number of teeth on your speedometer
drive gear located on the output shaft. The only upgrades to this kit would be a
SFI flexplate, cast aluminum pan, speedometer housing parts, wiring harness and

390 motor, ask. Transmission ratings are for non-supercharged systems
using pump gasoline. Superchargers, Nitrous, 4WD, Oversize Tires and

built using a Billet Lock-Up Clutch Piston to eliminate the piston
rattling problem with the stock type piston. This feature alone is

converter comes with a new OEM pre-drilled flexplate as a two piece set.
This torque converter will lower your 60 foot time .2 seconds and the
1/4 mile time by .5 seconds. The competitions 3000
stall speed converter was tested in the 1/4 mile then removed, and a
PATC 3000 stall speed converter was installed and tested, resulting in a
.2 second lower time in the 1/4 mile. This was due to the PATC converter
being a smaller diameter than stock. No down time, keep your old
